Below contains my reflection posts for classes in college
Reflection #1

The beauty within and around Boulder is something to take away, sit down and reflect about. A lot of things are hidden within this city, that’s what makes it a hidden gem. surrounding the city are railroad pull-offs that resemble locations for a thriller movie. The real beauty of this city stands with how urban and rural mix in a perfect way. There is no other place you can really go; other than Colorado, that has this kind of flow between the modern life and scenes from the past. Boulder as a city has a lot of art hidden away under tunnels, bridges, waterways and even sewers. The amazing thing about this city shows how people interact with the urban environment to make it their own.
The goal of these images is to present hidden beauties (in my opinion of course) around Boulder. I think that a place is beautiful if the environment builds mood within the mind, creating peace and/or meaning.

REFLECTION 2
I decided to focus on the human form beyond the male gaze and look more into the artform of the human body. What I mean by that is within everything in this world, there is something unique, whether it's a person or an item. No matter the case, the human body is a beautiful thing, everyone contains their own beauty in some form. When people talk about the stereotype body, that can be for anyone, male for female. In the modern day, anyone can be scrutinized for how they look, whether they're gay or straight. You can't judge someone else's physique without judging your own. No one has the right to stereotype anyone.
Reflection #3

For this reflection, I focused on one of my favorite parts of photography, portraits. For me, when I take pictures of others, my goal is to give them something to relate to a memory. Portraits are supposed to capture the moment, not just the visuals, but the emotions. For example, when I went to capture my friend’s wedding party for them. I want them to look back and think about the fun they had, and the memories that they created that night when the deal for them was sealed (married). Every moment counts, make sure that with every picture you take, comes a memory, a funny moment, an achievement.
Reflection #4

For this reflection, I decided to go back into my photo archive and look at my time in Hawaii last year. The reason for this was because the image series I took in Hawaii was to capture a group of people, for this, the islanders. I picked these four images because It was more focused on people, animals or something people own, which has personality of the person within it. Hawaii was a very eye opening experience, and it’s amazing to look at this series now. People who live there don’t care about anything but internal happiness, money isn’t an issue, just live. That’s what I love about the island community.
